The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Padhar Hospital stays abreast of current technology. Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is concerned with the diagnosis and management of various dentofacial anomalies, which could be traumatic, congenital or pathologic. Padhar hospital offers a wide range of services in connection with these.

  • FACIAL TRAUMA: Facial fractures are a concern to any patient as they affect both function and appearance of a patient. Patients with facial fractures suffer from inability to eat food, deranged occlusion and  facial disfigurement.  The Maxillofacial department offers a wide range of fixation systems including titanium AO synthes, mini implants for mandible, maxilla, zygoma and orbital floor reconstruction. Traumatic soft tissue injuries are managed with the best possible suturing techniques to minimise scars.

  • TUMOURS OF HEAD AND NECK: Madhya Pradesh is the epicentre for oral cancer in India. Padhar hospital is known for its quality care in head and neck surgery for the past 4 decades. Benign, premalignant and malignant oral lesions and salivary gland pathologies are diagnosed and managed here. We offer a wide range of surgical procedures including composite resections, wide excision of tumours, modified radical neck dissections and three dimensional reconstructions of complex soft tissue and bony defects with free flaps.

  • OROFACIAL INFECTIONS: Infections involving face and jaws usually arise from the teeth. Such infections spread rapidly through the fascial planes causing significant swelling and pain. Space Infections sometimes could be life threatening (Ludwig’s angina) and need immediate attention. Severe space infections involving the oral cavity, face, salivary glands, jaws, and neck are managed efficiently here.

Soft occlusal splints, TENS (transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation), TMJ arthrocentesis are performed when indicated. TMJ ankylosis is a condition in which there is inability to open the mouth. This condition needs surgical release of the ankylosis. All TMJ related pathologies are well managed here.
